The idea behind this exhibition was the result of numerous studio visits. So many artists I visited use materials, ideas, and aesthetics highly informed by life in a veritable construction site. Presented are art installations, discarded urban relics, and documentary photographs made in the metro Atlanta area, including the suburbs and Chattanooga. Artworks feel provisional, erased, relocated, replicated, re-routed, halted, haunted, influenced by the road, deconstructed, and still in-process.
