“Structure in Photographs: An Exploration of Deep Composition.” Well-known Atlanta photographer Kathryn Kolb leads fascinating foray into structure and composition in photography (or any two-dimensional art), exploring their significance in the perceptual experience of art and what this may mean in a larger cultural context. She draws examples from her own work, and from great photographers and painters, including Edward Weston, Ansel Adams, Claude Monet, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and the brilliant, recently discovered work of Vivian Maier. Reception begins 6:30. Refreshments will be served. Talk begins by 7:00.
