BurnAway Art Party Fundraiser: The Rebirth of Atlanta

BurnAway hosts a fundraising event themed around moments of ruin and rebirth in Atlanta history. The event will include installations and projections tailored to specific sites circulating throughout the venue, including a historical installation and performance by the Civil War Center of Kennesaw University, Disappearing Houses by Karen Tauches, a film by Niklas Vollmer, and many more works by various artists within the Atlanta community. The events also includes performances by Atlanta-based theater and dance groups along with a photo print sale from BurnAway’s bi-weekly Dodge and Burn. Also included in the night is an exhibition book featuring falsified accounts of Atlanta history, characterized by contributions from local writers and artists including Chris Appleton of WonderRoot, Thomas Wheatley of Creative Loafing, and Rebecca Burns of Atlanta magazine. Atlanta band Book of Colors and the Georgia Soul Council will also perform.
