Atlanta-based painter/mixed media artist/photographer Michelle Scott’s Kukan Series reveals large-scale pieces of artwork (blending photographic prints, found materials, drawing and painting into complex strata of emotion, historical narrative and nostalgia) inspired by photographs of uncharted war-torn China during the late 1930s and 1940s passed down from the artist’s grandfather, Oscar-winning filmmaker Rey Scott.
