Skelton will lead the GSO Jazz! Repertoire Orchestra’s 16 member-ensemble and its full complement of brass, woodwinds and percussion in featuring the music of Darcy James Argue, a Brooklyn-based jazz, composer and bandleader. Argue is best known for his work with his 18-piece ensemble, GRAMMY-nominated Secret Society, and his interest in Steampunk Jazz. The genre incorporates science fantasy, fashion and the arts of the Victorian/Edwardian era of the 20’s with technology and aesthetic designs inspired by the heavy industrial steam-powered era. The music creates and features classical instrumentation and an aura of a fictional or unreal world.
