From the venue:Delve into nature with this interactive class on creating vibrant dyes for yarn and fabric using lichen and mushrooms. Lifelong forager and fungi expert Alissa Allen will teach students safe and ethical harvesting techniques, the history of mycopigments, and how to get the best colors nature offers. Become a part of the local art experience by designing and dyeing your own shibori-style scarf with the colors found in wild fungi. Each student will leave the daylong class with step-by-step dye recipe cards, complete with color swatches, and a six-page guide to dyeing at home.
