Atlanta Radical Bookfair

Friday October 14, 2016 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: Free

From the venue:

The revolution will not be televised — but it might be written. Explore the intersection of literature and social justice at the inaugural Atlanta Radical Book Fair, a gathering of Southern writers, publishers, artists, activists, and community organizations committed to social change. The fair offers panels on topics ranging from Black Resistance and Armed Self-Defense in the American South to Political Prisoners and Resistance Behind Bars. Featured speakers include former Black Panther Party leader Dhoruba bin Wahad, social justice focused comic publisher Ad Astra Comix founder Nicole Burton, and Georgia State Department of African-American studies chair Akinyele Umoja, among others. There will also be an indoor market with books, zines, art, and other radical materials available for purchase.
