From the venue:
One of America’s most controversial black leaders meets the nation’s first black president in this one-act play. Written by Jacqueline Clay Chester, A Conversation Between Malcolm X and President Obama puts two of the most prominent figures of the last half century in a room together for a private conversation. Similar to The Meeting, the 1987 play that staged an imaginary meeting between former Nation of Islam spokesman Malcolm X and civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr., this Conversation hinges on the ideological extremes that separate them but also considers the commonalities they might share were they contemporaries.
