Get familiar with one of the basic techniques of timberframing. Learn to make a semi-dovetail stacked log joint commonly used in log cabin building. This includes care and use of an axe, saw, and a chisel and mallet as well as some traditional measuring devices. You will also create and use a joint template as well as participate in hands on tool use making joints and stacking logs/beams. Basic safety with sharp tools and heavy logs will also be discussed.
