From the venue:
Lisa Alembik’s exhibit Belly of the Whale meditates on the time between decision and consequences, framing this place of pause through the metaphorical interior of the whale. Alembik draws rooms and landscapes imbedded with history and volatility, steeped in waiting. As resource material she uses newspaper clippings and stills of domestic spaces photographed from Wallander, a detective program permeated with the protagonist’s existential conundrums. An opening reception takes place Sat., June 22, at 6 p.m.
