Jonathan Byrd is a North Carolina flat-picker, Texas songwriter, Gulf War veteran, preacher’s son, AND an award-winning songwriter. His songs have been covered by Tim O’Brien, Steve James, Red Molly, Jack Lawrence, Melissa Greener and more, crossing most ‘roots’ music genre boundaries to define true Americana. Byrd is a also a two-time winner of the Kerrville Folk Festival’s ‘New Folk’ songwriting competition - a serious milestone for many of America’s most successful artists.
