Best-selling author Amy Tan will be a first-time guest to the Georgia Center for the Book on Tues., Nov. 19, at Agnes Scott College’s Presser Hall. She’ll be reading from her newest novel, The Valley of Amazement. This multi-generational story is set in old Shanghai, moving from courtesan houses to the International Settlement to a remote Chinese village. It also explores the connection between mothers and daughters, territory Tan’s mapped profoundly in the past. Get there early, otherwise you may be out of Joy Luck.
