This holiday season, Charles Dickens’ classic Christmas story A Christmas Carol gets a metaphorical kick in the balls thanks to the Dad’s Garage Ensemble’s Invasion: Christmas Carol. Scrooge, Bob Cratchit, Tiny Tim — they’ll all be there, but probably not how you remember them. Each night, the audience will pick a surprise invader character — Miley Cyrus, Toronto mayor Rob Ford, it could be anyone or anything — to infiltrate and alter the course of the story. It’s up to the cast of improvisers on stage to keep the story on track. There will be two special performances at the Alliance Theatre on Dec. 15 and 18.No venue found
