The future of NAFTA is in danger. Negotiators missed the deadline to complete NAFTA 2.0 in time for Congress to pass this year. The June 8-9 G7 Summit highlighted the political issues behind the negotiations. Whether the outcome is a new agreement or keeping the 25-year-old agreement in place or replacing NAFTA with a US-Mexico and a US-Canada agreement will have major impact in the U.S. economy for years to come.

Canadian Consul General Nadia Theodore, Mexican Consul General Javier Díaz de León, and trade expert, Laura Dawson, Director of the Woodrow Wilson Center’s Canada Institute, will discuss why NAFTA matters. President and CEO of the Atlanta Federal Reserve Bank, Raphael Bostic, will moderate the discussion.
