High Museum 2018 Event - August Second Sunday

On the second Sunday of each month, we offer free admission for all visitors and special family-friendly programming from 1 to 4 p.m.

To help ensure your family has a great experience at the High Museum, check out our Second Sunday Social Story (información en español). This will give you a sense of what to expect during your visit.

Exciting things are in the works at the High! Please note that there will be restricted access to certain galleries as we prepare for the reinstallation of our permanent collection this fall.

Please note: Admission is free from 12 noon to 5 p.m. Programming takes place from 1 to 4 p.m.

August 2018: Tales and Tails
Fuel your imagination this summer with the power of reading! Immerse yourself in Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic. This playful, multisensory exhibition explores the magical world of Winnie-the-Pooh, one of the most adored fictional characters of all time.

Art-Making Workshops: Design Your Own Treehouse
1–4 p.m.
Greene Family Education Center, Lower Level, Stent Family Wing
Pooh and his friends lived in their own special treehouses in the Hundred Acre Wood. Now you can design your own! Don’t forget to take a photo of your model on a tree branch at the Museum, then find the perfect spot outside for your treehouse.

Inflatable Animal Still-Life Drawing
1–4 p.m.
Sifly Piazza or Front Lawn
Take inspiration from E. H. Shephard’s process of studying toys and trees to create his Winnie-the-Poohillustrations and try your hand at sketching huge inflatable animals!

Family Yoga with Lucy Curtis
1, 2, and 3 p.m.

Bounce like Tigger, swish your tail like Eeyore, and spread your wings like Owl! Join Lucy Curtis as she leads families in beginner-friendly yoga poses inspired by characters in Winnie-the-Pooh: Exploring a Classic.
