Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia Grand Opening

Atlanta now has a new source of inner peace — a modern meditation center in the heart of Inman Park, only two-blocks from the Beltline.  Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia will host its grand opening on Saturday, January 12 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The day’s events include free meditation workshops, complimentary lunch, music and door prizes.  The Buddhist meditation center located on 741 Edgewood Avenue NE, sits in a redesigned automotive garage dating back to 1938. The vintage brick building once housed AAA Electric Motor Service. The remodeled space features a comfortable meditation room, a children’s meditation area, lounge, gift shop and bookstore.   Programed events include daily meditation classes, day courses, book study and retreats for all levels of practice. On Sundays, parents can drop off their kids (ages 4-10) for children’s meditation, games and crafts, then join a class for adults in the main meditation hall.  The main focus of these programs is to provide accessible meditation techniques that can help students become more calm, peaceful, and happier in their day-to-day life.

In this way we can make our daily lives more fulfilling and meaningful, improving all our relationships,” says American Buddhist Monk and Resident Teacher, Gen Kelsang Mondrub.  Kadampa Meditation Center Georgia is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization run entirely by volunteers and established in Atlanta since 1998. It is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition and the International Kadampa Buddhist Union. Previously, their volunteers ran the World Peace Café in Sandy Springs from 2007 to 2013.
