Categories: Open Mic, Performance Poet
Java Speaks is a weekly open mic celebrating it’s 19th year. Kodac Harrison, founder of the open mic started at Java Monkey Coffee House in 2001, after hosting the event for 17 years passed the mic to Theresa Davis. Despite the fire that severely damaged our venue, we have moved to The Pinewood/Bar Crema in downtown Decatur, Georgia.
Java Speaks is open to all and maintains a code of conduct regarding language. No hate speech, homophobia, sexism, racism or hate speech is allowed on this mic. So come on through listen to poetry and music, have a sandwich, a bottle of beer, a glass of wine, or a piece of pie!
Java Speaks Every Sunday Night!
