From the venue:

J.D. Pinkus is on the road again, playing songs from his latest album, a twisted and psychedelic collection of banjo-fueled ruminations titled Keep On the Grass. Pinkus is perhaps best known for his tenure playing bass with Austin, Texas’ deranged avant-garde punk outfit the Butthole Surfers circa 1985 to 1994. But over the last three decades he has collaborated with and performed alongside Melvins, Helios Creed, Supersuckers, and more.

Keep On the Grass is an expansive and inspired batch of songs that find Pinkus expanding upon his own repertoir. Songs such as “I Don’t Care,” “Good Trouble,” and “Broke, Soaked, and Dirty” challenge the notions of what bluegrass music is, and what it could be, while keeping one foot planted firmly in his irreverent ways.
