Generationals are bringing their new album, Reader As Detective, released July 2019, to the stage this fall. New Orleans natives Ted Joyner and Grant Widmer started the band in 2008 during the presidential election, naming their band after the generational issues that it brought to the surface, and creating a style that would bring back elements from other generations. Their corner of indie-rock is painted with new wave and decorated with doo-wop and surf rock, and their newest release lays down a pyschedelic rug. -- Narah Landress
