From the venue:
It’s a welcome irony to see Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin performing in Heaven at the Masquerade. After all, the Italian prog rock juggernaut provided the hellish soundtrack to Dario Argento’s Technicolor horror classics Suspiria, Zombi (aka Dawn of the Dead), Tenebre, and more. For this show, guitarist Bruno Previtali, bass player Cecilia Nappo, drummer Federico Maragoni, and Goblin co-founder, composer, and keyboard player Claudio Simonetti bring a rock ’n’ roll presence to the stage for a live score to Argento’s 1975 psychic slasher flick Deep Red (Profondo Rosso) as the film plays out on the silver screen. Stick around for an encore set filled with blood-splattered highlights from throughout the group’s career. — Chad Radford
