The Ugly Duckling

Get your ducks in a row and waddle down to see WonderQuest’s The Ugly Duckling this September! In this original play, a misfit duckling leaves the nest in search of adventure, family, and their own identity. This show is the world premiere of a brand-new script written by award-winning playwright and WonderQuest Director, Gay H. Hammond. The Ugly Duckling features a diverse flock of feathered, fuzzy, and fun characters.

The show performs in Brenau University’s Historic Pearce Auditorium, 200 Boulevard, Gainesville, at 7:30pm Sep 27 and Oct 4-5, 4:30pm on Sep 28 and 2:30pm on Sep 29. A free Meet-the-Actors reception follows the Sep 27 opening night performance and a free Ice Cream Social follows the Sep 29 performance. Get a peek behind-the-scenes with a free stage tour on Sep 17 at 6:00pm.

WonderQuest is the theatre for young audiences division of the Gainesville Theatre Alliance, and a recipient of the Southeastern Theatre Conference’s Sara Spencer Award for Excellence in Child Drama. The Gainesville Theatre Alliance is a nationally acclaimed collaboration of the University of North Georgia, Brenau University, theatre professionals and the North Georgia community.
