Shola Emmanuel is a true interpreter of jazz in the African style. His performances cut across borders, connecting both jazz connoisseurs and those new to the art.
His latest album, “Kind of Music”, features Mr. Emmanuel’s original songs, blending African highlife and America swing jazz.
Saxophonist and performing artist Shola Emmanuel has gone beyond just playing the saxophone to building relationships, transcending barriers and speaking deeply to those who have come to love his passionate approach to music.
Since making his first international appearance before a crowd of 80,000 in 1999, Shola has performed in the United States, Canada, Italy, France, Africa, and the United Kingdom. He’s played with some of the most respected performers in professional music, including Quincy Jones, Kirk Whalum, Kamasi Washington, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Alicia Keys, Bobby Ricketts, CAB, Amikaeyla Gaston and Rhythm & Sax Big Band.
