A compilation of stop motion short films from the master of silhouette animation, Lotte Reiniger!

The animator, inventor, and pioneer Lotte Reiniger made silhouette animation films from the 1910s to the 1980s. Best known for creating the first feature-length animated film, The Adventures of Prince Achmed (1926), her career, in reality, ranged across advertising, avant-gardism, fairy tales, and opera. This program of film shorts showcases carefully selected and unjustly unseen work from across Reiniger’s extensive filmography.

Programmed and introduced by Dr. Patrick Ellis (Georgia Institute of Technology).

Cinderella (1922)
Papageno (1935)
Selection of advertisements, including the Heavenly Post-Office (1938)
Snow White and Rose Red (1954)

Michel Ocelot, from Ciné si (1989)

Cost: Included with Museum admission: $12.50; FREE for Center Members.
The Worlds of Puppetry Museum will be open 7:00-8:00pm before the film.
