From the venue:

In 2008, the Emory Global Health Institute began its Global Health Student Photography Contests thanks to a gift from Atlanta philanthropist and photographer Bob Yellowlees. The purpose of the annual contest is to foster cultural sensitivity by encouraging Emory students conducting global health projects to examine the culture and people with whom they are working in the field. A compelling result of these global health field experiences is a large collection of beautiful photographs depicting numerous different global health issues. The photographs in this exhibit are selections from the winning photographs from the past 12 years.
