From the venue:

Come out to honor congressman and civil rights leader John Lewis on his 80th birthday. Lewis played many key roles in the civil rights movement and was the youngest of the “Big Six” leaders of groups who organized the 1963 March on Washington. He was also one of the 13 original Freedom Riders, a group that protested segregation on buses. He has been honored with countless awards, including the Profile in Courage Award from the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation, the Spingarn Medal, many honorary degrees from prestigious universities, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Since 1986, he has represented Georgia’s 5th congressional district, defeating every candidate he ever opposed since his first win. John Lewis truly has lived a legendary life.
