Formed in Asheville NC in 2017, Soul Blue is comprised of long-time veterans of the Atlanta and Asheville music scenes.
Drummer Peter Chakales and Guitarist Rick Callahan were part of the rock-solid rhythm section of Atlanta’s XL’s for many years.
Soul Blue’s bass player Chuck Shane has been a member of Atlanta’s popular Banks and Shane Band since the mid 70’s.
Guitarist Andy Hunter has performed around the Southeast since the late 70’s in great Bands such as Southern Fried and Daddy’s Money (with Peter).
Singer Ruthie Hunter has spent her years as a solo artist, as well as performing acoustically with husband Andy and has been Soul Blue’s lead singer since its conception.
