Bach in Motion by Atlanta Baroque Orchestra

Atlanta Baroque Orchestra’s inaugural Summer Dance Festival, “Bach in Motion” celebrates the solo suites of J.S. Bach set into motion, featuring ABO Artistic Director Julie Andrijeski, Associate Concertmaster Evan Few and guests in three contrasting vignettes: returning guest artist Paige Whitley-Bauguess will stylishly weave movement into Bach’s music through intricate and eye-opening 18th-century dance steps that provided the inspiration for all of Bach’s dance suites; dancer Julia Bengtsson, who together with cellist Stephanie Winters, the heart and soul of the Bach Cello Suites Festival Project, will showcase their performance that combines baroque and modern elements to illuminate the life and emotions of Bach’s wife and copyist Anna Magdalena Bach; and Atlanta’s own staibdance, led by Artistic Director George Staib, will present a contemporary portrait of Bach’s solo suites that will sow seeds for an exciting full-length future collaboration with the ABO.
