CL RECOMMENDS
CL’s Doug DeLoach Recommends: The Atlanta Chamber Players returns to the acoustically superb confines of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church with a program headlined by Franz Schubert’s String Quintet in C major (“Cello Quintet”). The performance will feature Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster David Coucheron, Helen Hwaya Kim, Catherine Lynn, Rainer Eudeikis, and Brad Ritchie. Also on the program are Shostakovich’s Five Pieces for Two Violins and Piano and Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes featuring clarinetist Alcides Rodriguez. — DD

From the venue:

We are thrilled to return to the beauty of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church where a highlight of this program will be Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), Op. 4. This String Sextet, written in 1899 will feature the incredible musicianship of Atlanta Symphony Orchestra Concertmaster David Coucheron, Helen Hwaya Kim, Zhenwei Shi, Catherine Lynn, Rainer Eudeikis, and Brad Ritchie. To round out the program, ACP Artistic Director Elizabeth Pridgen and clarinetist Alcides Rodgriguez will be featured on the unique instrumentation of Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes.
