Ben’s Sports Take: Super Bowl prediction gone right?

OK, it isn’t perfect but it’s probably as close as I’ll ever get.

It was almost five months ago—the day before the 2010 NFL season kicked off in New Orleans—when I decided to post the adjacent Super Bowl prediction on my Twitter page.

Was I the only one to pick the Packers to win the big game? Absolutely not. Did anyone ask for my opinion on the matter? Nope. Does anyone care now about the accuracy of my prediction? Doubtful.

But on the rare occasion that I get one of these prognostications right, can you really blame me for basking in the glory of it?

Sportswriters can spend their entire career trying to accurately predict a Super Bowl champion—many of them failing mightily—so if you happen to get one right, there’s nothing wrong with a little horn tooting is there?

All that being said, here’s another prediction that you’re sure to not care about: the Steelers will win on Sunday. (I said the Packers would beat the Ravens)
