A West End resident says Habitat for Humanity is building a home that doesn’t jibe with the historic neighborhood’s design guidelines. It says the city’s Urban Design Commission OK’ed the home but required another new house to follow the rules.

The criminal trial against the former CEO and other executives of the Albany, Ga., peanut plant linked to a salmonella outbreak that killed nine people and made hundreds more sick is in its fifth week. The case could have far more reaching consequences than whether they go to federal prison.

Police are looking for suspects involved in a shooting that left one man dead and a woman in serious condition. Both victims were found handcuffed and shot in the head in northwest Atlanta.
