Democratic US senators stump for Keisha Lance Bottoms

Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris visited Atlanta to endorse the councilwoman’s mayoral bid

Two prominent Democrats cruised through Atlanta this past weekend to plug their support for Keisha Lance Bottoms’ mayoral campaign.

U.S. Sens. Cory Booker and Kamala Harris, Dems from New Jersey and California, respectively, stopped by on Sunday, each hosting their own rally for the councilwoman’s mayoral bid. Both senators could also be eyeing 2020 presidential runs, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, meaning a potential Bottoms’ win in tomorrow’s runoff election could come with some tight ties to Washington, D.C.

Booker and Harris join a significant list of powerful Democrats, alongside former state Sen. Jason Carter and current Sen. Elena Parent and other local liberals.
