Decatur’s epicenter is a town square (currently undergoing a massive revitalization) helmed by a historic courthouse that’s home to the DeKalb History Center. The biggest draws, however, are the restaurants, shops and bars that surround the square, as well as the festivals and events, including Fourth of July fireworks and free Saturday evening concerts in May and September.
