Night Beats, The Mystery Lights, Black Linen

Sunday July 10, 2016 08:00 PM EDT
Cost: $10

From the venue:

Night Beats’ sound is grounded in the psychedelic vibes of fellow Texas natives the 13th Floor Elevators. There are also hints of R&B’s golden era beneath walls of guitar fuzz — the band is named after Sam Cooke’s 1963 album Night Beat. This focused approach on period-specific influences is as evident as ever on their Who Sold My Generation LP (Heavenly Recordings). Following in the footsteps of Lone Star State royalty has paid off for Night Beats, with the band touring the globe in recent years with Black Lips, the Jesus and Mary Chain, the Zombies, and even Roky Erickson himself.
