Beer Pick of the Week - V-Saison

Consider a couple of bottles of this bright, intriguing farmhouse-style ale from Victory as an alternative to the usual boring cheap champagne. At about $8.50 for a 750 ml bottle, it is reasonably priced and far more interesting than the typical bubbly. It pours a hazy, pale gold with a sweet, yeasty, floral aroma. A grainy, pale malt sweetness anchors the flavor, but the taste is more tart and spicy than sweet, with a lemony tang, a crisp taste of sour apple, and a peppery, dry finish. A votre santé!
