Once upon a time, in a far away place called the late 1970s and early 1980s, residents of Candler Park watched their once impoverished neighborhood start seeing new investment. Young couples were moving into the historic northeast Atlanta community. Investors were buying fixer-uppers and selling them. Hippies were smoking some kind of leaf in the park! And some residents raised concerns that rising rents were forcing their neighbors to move elsewhere.
