The High Museum of Art has created another way to expose members of the Atlanta community to a grand spectrum of art and artists. On the second Sunday of every month, the High will host Second Sunday Funday. This new program series— a component of Family Fun at the Woodruff Arts Center— provides visitors with free admission to family-friendly programming from 1 to 4 p.m. Thanks to the $6.6 million dollar grant from the Lettie Pate Evans Foundation that makes Second Sunday Fundays possible, Atlanta families now have greater access to core art and arts education.

“The ability to open our doors to the entire Atlanta community and provide interactive, enriching experiences for all fulfills a key part of our mission as the leading art museum in the Southeast,” the High’s Director of Education, Virginia Shearer, said in a statement.

The inaugural Second Sunday Funday will take place on June 14, during the first of the Woodruff Arts Center’s campus-wide Family Festivals. The event includes activities such as an aerial photo booth, animated films, and a scavenger hunt — all of which are inspired by the High’s exhibitions Seriously Silly! The art & whimsy of Mo Willems and Los Trompos. For more information about Second Sunday Fundays, click here.
