Art Boxes artist: Mario Schambon

Mario Schambon is a Colombian-born artist and musician currently living and working in Atlanta. Recent projects have included multimedia art installations in Wicker Park Chicago, a US tour with Atlas Sound, and Performances in New York, NY, Portland, OR, Indianapolis, IN, Orlando, FL Chicago, IL and San German, Mayaguez, San Juan and Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.Image

In addition he has performed with Laetitia Sadier, Sonia Sanchez, and Damo Suzuki. Currently He is part of Roberto Lange’s Helado Negro and Epstein Projects in New York as well as a collaborator with several projects in Atlanta, GA, Mayaguez, PR, and Toronto, ON, Canada.

In the visual arts, Schambon has been involved primarily with sculpture and installation. Highlights include a commission for the Wander National Monument in Jekyll Island, GA and a temporary installation at the American Institute of Architects headquarters in New Orleans with Christophe Gauspohl as part of the show DesCours 2009.
