For years, stand-out stand-ups Cameron Esposito and Rhea Butcher have performed side-by-side for Los Angelenos on their popular show/podcast "Put Your Hands Together.' The rest of us get the chance to see the dynamic duo together as they embark on a new nationwide tour. Esposito released her debut stand-up special, "Marriage Material,' in 2016 on the streaming service SeeSo, while Butcher's debut album, Butcher, debuted at No.1 via Kill Rock Stars. Off stage, the comedy couple co-created a sitcom, "Take My Wife,' based on their relationship for SeeSo. It's a double-packed night of hilarity you don't want to miss when they invade the Variety Playhouse.

The Story Collider: Identity

Meisa Salaita and Kellie Vinal host.

Moon Duo, Birds of Avalon

The Drunken Unicorn - 736 Ponce De Leon Ave. Atlanta, Georgia 30306 $12. 9:30 p.m.

As Moon Duo, guitarist Erik Johnson (Wooden Shjips) and Sanae Yamada have been crafting whirling, hooky psychedelia since 2009. Their latest pair of albums, 2017's Occult Architecture Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 find the pair exploring the light and dark sides of their sound and are perhaps their clearest thematic statements to date. Mixing heavy psych with crisp Krautrock, the tracks on both volumes of Occult Architecture highlight Johnson and Yamada's masterful sense of balance and control. Johnson's radiant guitar flourishes are a humane compliment to Yamada's droning keyboards. Like their albums, Moon Duo's live performances are both ecstatic and foreboding, equal parts jangly dance party and John Carpenter soundtrack.
