Military veterans die each day due to suicide. Join Gwinnett Library as we hear from Ellis Henican about the difference that a service animal can make in a veteran’s life. Henican is the coauthor of Tuesday’s Promise - One Veteran, One Dog, and Their Bold Quest to Change Lives which is the follow up to the late Ret. Captain Luis Carlos Montalvan’s bestselling memoir Until Tuesday. Tuesday’s Promise illuminates the disturbing reality of those living with PTSD and the hope and inspiration brought to so many by one man and one dog.

Combat veteran Doc Todd served our country as a Fleet Marine Force Corpsman (combat medic) in the United States Navy. His new CD Combat Medicine is dedicated to personal healing and restoration and is intended to give veterans a voice through music. Listen to his verses as he brings hope to service members.

Gwinnett County Public Library presents Pulitzer Prize winner Ellis Henican and combat veteran Doc Todd to increase public awareness of this issue. Henican and Todd will appear Sunday, September 10 at 3:00pm at the Norcross Cultural Arts and Community Center, 10 College Street, Norcross, GA 30071. This event is free and open to the public. CDs and books will be available for purchase and signing.
