An Alliance email about the show proclaimed, “The title of this world premiere may just trigger your spam filter,” but I wouldn’t expect to get tips for finding mail-order brides. A 20-year-old American woman’s visit to Moscow becomes increasingly blurred with Russian folk tales in the world premiere of The Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls. Playwright Meg Miroshnik won the latest installment of the Alliance Theatre’s Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition, which seeks out and cultivates the most promising writers of their generation. Debuting at the Alliance Hertz Stage from Feb. 3-26, Fairytale Lives of Russian Girls stars an all-female cast, including Judy Leavell and Diany Rodriguez. (Curt Holman)
