Chefs today are pop culture’s newest rock stars. Rub elbows with Atlanta’s culinary bigwigs at Atlanta Eats Live! on Sun., Oct. 5, 5-10 p.m. at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre. Back for a second year, the food festival is an extension of Steak Shapiro’s local restaurant show, “Atlanta Eats,” which airs Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 a.m. on Peachtree TV. An impressive collection of 40 restaurants — Kimball House, St. Cecilia, Heirloom Market BBQ, Nuevo Laredo, and Chai Pani, to name a few — will be on hand, cooking up a storm for attendees as they eat and drink their way through the venue. Also on the agenda: chef karaoke, cooking demos, and no shortage of rockin’ live music.
