A Georgia resident will spend the next eight years in prison for filing false liens against properties belonging to government officials. Hakim Amal Archible, 38, of Hampton, was convicted of targeting former IRS Commissioner John Koskinen, former U.S. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew and the Chief Judge of Henry County Superior Court, among others. U.S. Attorney Kurt R. Erskine said in a statement, “Congress enacted the retaliatory lien statute to address the problem of frivolous retaliatory liens, too often used by tax defiers and sovereign citizens to obstruct the tax laws and harass government employees.” justice.gov
