The University of Georgia is facing criticism from students who say they are becoming ill in their living quarters. Substandard housing conditions are resulting in intense coughing, severe sore throats, and congestion; mold, dirty filters, and improper ventilation are said to be part of the problem. Rebecca Etheridge, the mother of a UGA student who has developed breathing issues, says an outside investigation is needed to correct the situation. “Fresh eyes and those of experts would be best at this point,” she said. ajc.com
