Hapeville’s Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers series kicks off with Butterfly in the Sky. Directed and produced by Bradford Thomason and Brett Whitcomb, the film explores the story of one of 80s and 90s kids’ favorite television series, Reading Rainbow, and how the iconic host LeVar Burton and show creators cultivated a love of reading by way of the television screen. A reception will take place at 6 p.m. before the screening, where attendees can engage in conversation with the filmmakers themselves, and the screening will follow following shortly after at 7 p.m. The event is free, and all are welcome!
