From the venue:

We’re thrilled to extend an invitation to you for the upcoming Asian American Advocacy Day hosted by Asian Americans Advancing Justice — Atlanta and the Asian American Advocacy Fund. This event, scheduled for Thursday, February 15, is your opportunity to actively engage with policymakers, enhance your advocacy skills, and champion the causes that matter most to you, our families, and communities. In the past we’ve advocated against harmful and xenophobic bills, and for bills which would allow our communities equal access to education and access to driver’s licenses regardless of legal residency and immigration status.

Our morning will begin at the Freight Depot, with breakfast, presentations, and advocacy training. We will update participants on our organizations’ work, important state legislation, and provide opportunities to engage with legislators. We will head to the Georgia Capitol together, take a group photo in our Advocacy Day t-shirts at the Capitol steps, and participants will have the chance to either take a legislative tour, talk to legislators at the ropes, or participate in small group conversations with legislators.

All are welcome to join, no advocacy experience is required. This event is also inclusive of students/student groups, and individuals of all immigration statuses. Asian American Advocacy Day will equip participants with the skills and resources they need to engage with legislators. This is a unique opportunity for Asian American community members to make connections in order to advocate for a better Georgia for us all.

Let’s come together and advocate for positive and lasting change! We’re looking forward to your participation.
