About Nicky and Natalie Firmin-Chavez

Natalie Firmin-Chavez
Natalie is a mixed, first-generation Latina living at the intersection of her Mexican-German-American culture, world travel, and local food. She’s an educational chef, local food advocate, and marketing strategist who allows the seasons to inspire her plant-forward cuisine. Her food journey began by growing up in her family’s Oaxacan restaurants in New England, followed by a career in Urban Agriculture, where she learned to connect deeply with where her food comes from. She’s been a pop-up chef, caterer, and full-time restaurateur alongside her now husband. She’s certified in Food Therapy and believes deeply in food’s power to heal while still being ridiculously delicious. Today, she shares her passion for flavor-punching, intuitive cuisine via educational demos at farmers markets and the Atlanta Botanical Garden, as well as on her blog and social media platforms.

Nicky Firmin-Chavez
Nicky is a Mezcal-loving protagonist who fell in love with cocktails a decade ago after sipping my first Naked and Famous at a Mezcal popup in ATL! Now I curiously navigate through spices, local fruit, fermentations, and herbs to tell my story with cocktails. Maybe it’s my adolescent obsession with Basquiat or my impulsive need for chaos, but I love balancing contradicting flavors and creating eccentric libations. My time in South East Asia was a significant inspiration, most memorably, Chiang Mai. Their bartenders use local produce, aromatic savory ingredients, and bright flavors when crafting cocktails. Dope artists, hoopers, and bartenders from my travels have all influenced my craft. As an Audience Researcher, I’ve always been fascinated by the liberation of human behavior and our journey to individuality.
