CRITIC’S PICK: Dear Silas, Thomas Austin & Cam The Artisan, Smith’s Olde Bar — There’s a concert for every occasion or mood you might be in. Some are great for when you need to lose your mind in the mosh pit while others are great for when you really need a good cry. Then there are concerts like Dear Silas’s upcoming show at Smith’s Olde Bar. The Jackson, Mississippi native’s show is one of them ones that will leave you feeling charged up and rejuvenated. Fresh off the release of his back-to-back EPs On Read and 601 DEGREEZ, Dear Silas is as brilliant as ever, with music that slaps just as much as it fills you up with confidence and joy. The same can be said of his openers, too. Silas has tapped his fellow Mississippian Thomas Austin and Atlanta’s own Cam The Artisan for opening support, and sure enough, both of their latest projects — DON’T LOOK BACK and Art Samples Vol. 2, respectively — are just as bright, reassuring, and ambitious.
